Put Your Hope in God
(Ps. 42:1-11)
Introduction: "Put your hope in God." This is the message that David applied to himself, and it is also the answer to every problem. This poem shows us the blessing that comes after the success of self-camp. When we who have the covenant are in trouble, it is not that we fail but the fulfillment of the word, answers to prayer, and evangelism take place through the problem as the evidence of God"s blessing. If we are truly children of God who have the covenant, greater difficulties will come. The greater your problems are, the more God restores your spiritual authority in order to let you enjoy the blessing of world evangelization.
Since David was called by God, problems had been more serious as time went by. Ps. 42 is the poem written after he was forced from power because of the rebellion of his son, Absalom and could not have worship properly. What was David"s concern in the midst of those problems? What was his method to solve them?
1.David took an interest in the worship in the middle of hardship.
(1)David lamented that he couldn"t worship God. (v.1-3)
1)David sighed over not the hardships coming from surroundings but the thirst
of his soul.
2)We should regard the value of the spiritual blessing as the best value like
David. (v.4)
3)Ultimately, the human being separated from God will face the problems. Unless
they enjoy spiritual blessing.
4)God is responsible for the life who grab hold of spiritual blessing as the best
value.
(2)David felt sorry that the glory of the name of God gets dimmed because of the
hardships of his own. (v.3)
1)David shed tears day and night that he couldn"t give the glory to the name of
God.
2)God wants me to put my self down and to recover my new self by the christ.
(Gal.2:20)
(3)The greater your physical problems are, the more we should get into the plan
of spiritual blessing.
2. Daivd had solved his difficulties through self-camp.
(1) Daivd went into continuous prayer by giving himself messages. [self-camp]
1) There is no one who can help you when you are in really big trouble.
2) David became successful by having the message, "God is with me."
(2) You must be revived first before conquering the field.
[the blessing of self-camp]
1) Self-camp is self-revival.
2) If you don"t enjoy the blessing of self-camp, you won"t be able to maintain
ministry and will become powerless even after hard-working.
3) You must come into scheduled and continuous prayer by grabbing onto the
covenant.
4) You must come into scheduled prayer by grabbing onto the covenant in order
to be victorious in this world.
(3) David came to praise because there were things that God showed him during
self-camp. (v.6)
1) You shouldn"t be discouraged but enter into prayer with the covenant
whatever your problems or circumstances are.
2) If you keep doing this, God will show us visible grace, and we will
eventually praise God.
Conclusion: For the sake of world evangelization, God will allow us a new temptation of Satan; however, God gives us the authority to overcome it when we pray. World evangelization refers to breaking down the forces of darkness. World evangelization can take place not by your power but only by the authority given by God, and it will be granted through the problems you have. Therefore, you should enter into self-camp whenever God gives you new problem. May you not be deceived by problems but be victorious by the fact that there is always an answer in the problem.
