A freeman and a servant
(Ex.21:1-11)
Introduction: The scripture says that some of the Israeli had barely survived so they decided to put themselves into captivity. Many people are living like a servant or a slave. Why are they living like that and how can we grasp true freedom? We must have these questions to find our covenant. To live like a freeman, we must know the value of gospel.
1.What is the gospel?
(1)It means Christ came to the earth.
(2)Christ came to deliver spiritual facts, spiritual problems and spiritual blessings
1)Spiritual facts
①The Bible says invisible spiritual facts first(Heb.11:3, Ge.1:14)
②God created the visible world(Ge.1,2), spiritual human being and Gods blessings(Ge.1:27-28, 2:7)
③Blessings when spiritual men are in the presence of God
2)Spiritual problems
①Every blessing has been lost by Genesis 3s accidents
②The real problems on this earth: this world is in the middle of destruction, People are fallen in the midst of sins and possessed by satan(Eph6:12)
③Dominated by satan, idol worship, disease of spirit and flesh, judgement and hell, spiritual heritage
3)Spiritual blessings
①Christ came to solve the spiritual problems(1Jn.3:8, Ro.8:1-2)
②Changed spiritual status for us(Ro.8:15)
③The moment we receive Jesus Christ as our savior, our spiritual status will be changed(Jn.1:12, Ro.10:9-10)
(3)The more we experience these secrets, the more free we feel
2.Even one person who realizes the value of gospel can change all.
(1)We can posses the gospel when knowing the value of it, and then every field will show its evidence.
1)Gods work happened at the field of Peter who realized absolute value of His name(Ac.3:6, 4:12)
2)Paul not only appreciated what he had been undergoing because of the name of Christ but also realized the worth of it.
(2)Every problem has occurred since the value of gospel has been trampled on this earth(1Co.1:18)
1)People of Sodom and Gomorrah who was ruined by disregarding Gods words(Ge.19)
2)People became slaves and servants because of spiritual problems
(3)After having lost the value of gospel, Israeli people had hardships and scattered all around world
1)Destruction of the Pharisees
2)Churches that is running out of power
(4)We must primarily get strength and grace from church
1)The most important thing churches have to do is to realize gospel, enjoy gospel, and root in the gospel
2)What I think gospel is all about makes and decides my future
3)As long as we know the value of gospel and enjoy it in the field, there is no doubt we will success.
Conclusion: What do you think the gospel is? Think about it. Grab hold fo Ex.20:24s promise. We must bless His name, enjoy the Name only, and make up our mind to witness His name only. True Christ has true freedom in His name(Jn.8:32). We must be a witness of God so that we can rescue people out of the status of a slave in the name of Jesus.
